Finally plucked up the courage to pick up mums ashes today from the Funeral Directors and after putting her on the back seat of the car, I cried........
I could see mums room from the reception area, and felt that she was still in there lying in her coffin, but she is at home now where she belongs.
Myself, dad and sister shared her ashes, I'm going to wait untill the spring, when the weather gets warmer and scatter a few of them at her favourite seaside resort, where we shared lots of happy memories on our family holidays together.
I also bought a lovely silver plated musical jewel box which I came across one day (plays Unforgettable- nat king cole, song which we had played at mums funeral) and the funeral director put a token amount of ashes in for me to keep as a keepsake, they are now on my window sil with a picture of mum. Tomorrow I am going to buy some of her favourite flowers too, carnations and freesia'a.
