Private Messages not showing up sent

It hasnt happened before, but now when I go to check my sent private messages folder, there is nothing to show that I have sent one but I do get answers from them.

do I need to "enable something"

Yes. Go to Settings (in the top blue bar). Go to General Settings. Scroll down until you get to the Private Messaging Setting and change the option of Sent Private Messages to be "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default", then (and this is important) scroll down to the bottom of the page and choose Save Changes.
