Printer firmware virus!!!

"- Printers have a very basic operating system. The video covers HP printers, but there's no reason to think that others' are any different.
- They can be controlled by relatively simple commands.
- Those commands can be embedded in documents (so printing a document will run a command).
- You will not know if a command that compromises your printer has been sent to it.
- (Scary) Once the printer has been compromised, a remote hacker can get a copy of every document you print.
- (Even more scary) Once the printer has been compromised, a hacker can then start sending commands to PCs on your network and compromise them too.
- (Also scary) The printer can be compromised in such a way that you can never un-compromise it---throwing away the printer would be the only option.

Thank you for the Warning !

Hello Nitram , Many thanks for putting this on T P & just realized you mention H P Printer well that is the make of my P C & at the moment have not had a letter etc or E Mail from H P about it ! Not that i print a lot any how ! . Might ask David about it ( he is a proper P C "Fixer " :) & shown me how to do stuff on my P C

Thanks once again & might give the Video a miss !
