Hi I’m a new member and I was my uncle’s primary carer until he went into residential care and he has moderate learning disabilities and dementia.
My mum who’s now sober and has been addicted to alcohol on and off for majority of my life and I’m worried that she may have some form of alcohol related dementia

Thanks

Welcome @Purple retriever

You'd be best keeping a diary of behaviours which worry you aside from those she demonstrated when she was drinking and take it to her doctor who will probably arrange for an assessment.

Hi thanks for your advice and I will do this as she’s the same since being sober and despite taking Thiamine since she’s stopped drinking it’s not improved her memory and behaviour
