Hi, I feel disloyal even thinking about doing this. My partner and wife of over 30 years was diagnosed early 2023 with MCI and acute anxiety. I am amazed how rapidly her cognition has declined since then. She is now almost completely reliant on me and I feel that soon things are going to get much worse.

Hello @Sad_Eric, hopefully you will find a lot of support here. There is nothing disloyal about approaching Alzheimer’s Society, you are aware that you will need support and want the best for your wife. This is a good place to ask questions, compare notes and rant if needs be.

Welcome @Sad_Eric

Please don`t feel disloyal about posting. You are doing this to get help and support and in your wife`s best interests.

We all need somewhere safe to share experiences and off load and everyone here knows how it is but because of the anonymity, not who you are.

It is also not disloyal to try to get help. I left it too late and was in danger of carer breakdown.

Have you had a carer's assessment? If not, now is the time.
