My 90 y/o dad has had symptoms of dementia for about 8 yrs. He recently started hallucinating, spent a week in the hospital and sent home on hospice. I can't get anyone to direct me as to what stage he is in and what to expect. He is bedbound and sleeps alot, awaking more at night. I am just looking for what i should expect....

I don't subscribe to ridged staging.
You could book a phone or video call with an Admiral Nurse and have a chat
If really fortunate they may have a presence near you.

You've been read and thank you for posting, my mantra has always been to expect the unexpected, the first 10 years are the hardest. K

Welcome to the forum @exhausteddaughter.

I do think it’s hard to determine an exact stage. My husband seemed to hit points on more than one stage. Having said that you might find this interesting -
