Thank you Susan

He `went off again.`

He woke at 7.45pm. and has been pottering around the house till now. I heard the movement but kept my distance as I felt the vibes weren`t too good.

And just now I smelt toast, so ventured into the kitchen. He had made cheese on toast. It was as if nothing had happened.

But he is still very confused. He now thinks he is in receipt of sick pay.
He might be right.

And he is washed shaved and dressed and thinks it`s a really dark and horrid morning.

I`d better make sure he doesn`t go for the papers.

Dear Sylvia...

Just checking on you before I go to bed......

Hoping that Dhiren's nights aren't turning into his days....

But glad you've let the GP know what's going on...it's worth doing at times of crisis so at least it's on record officially.

Sounds as though you could be in for a night of it.....

I hope not...

But I love your quip about the papers....:D

Love gigi xx

Dear Sylvia

This is just to say "Good Morning" and, like Joanne, I hope you managed some decent sleep. I was pleased to read that Dhiren ate some cheese on toast.

Sending my very best wishes for a much less anxious day for you.

Love

A good night`s sleep........................

We were both in bed by 11pm and had an undisturbed night. Dhiren is still asleep.
Thank you for such wonderful support.

Dear Sylvia

I am so pleased for you. All these mercies do make a big difference.

I'm off to feed the poor birds now as they must be cold and hungry - it's been snowing here.

Love

'Morning Sylvia

Glad you were able to get some much-needed rest last night, and I'm so sorry to read of this last week's trials & tribulations.
I know how awful lack of sleep & constant anxiety makes one feel, but have NO IDEA how you have coped with this situation for so long & with such strength.
In that context (only), Dhiren is one very lucky man, although his illness is tragic for you both.

Love and <<<<<Big Hugs>>>>>

Not posted to you for a while but that doesn't mean I don't care. As others have said, I would not be able to cope as you have done for such a long time. Hope your good night's sleep will help you to get through today.

Thank you Tina.

Dhiren is still asleep and I`m on the computer in the bedroom just in case ......

In his sleep he is muttering numbers....our phone number. I`m amazed he knows it.

Have had a phone call from the central heating installer. He will come tomorrow morning, he thinks it is the pump.

Thinking of you, Sylvia

Dear Sylvia,
I've only just logged on for the first time in a few days [ life a bit difficult,etc..] , and caught up with your thread.
I'm so sorry to hear about your extremely stressful experience, I
know how dreadful it can be when this happens!

David has wandered off several times, since we live in a very rural area with not many people around, I was very lucky when the last time a neighbour saw him and brought him home.

Now I have to keep the doors and windows locked all the time, but I appreciate what you say about how Dhiren gets angry if he cannot go out.
My trouble is that David would never be able to find his way home, even if he had wandered a few yards from the house. This is another step down I'm afraid.
Fortunately, he does seem to have passed the 'angry' phase- when he used to demand his car keys from me and get furious when I wouldnt let him have them, life was very difficult!
You may find that Dhiren's anger will abate, I do hope so for your sake.

Just to let you know that I'm thinking of you and really empathise with your situation.

With much love,

A life before lunchtime.........................

Last night`s sundowning began at 12midnight and lasted till 3.15am.

He was going to find his uncle and his cousins.
He did not want to live only with me.
I could go with him if I wanted to.
He was restless and anxious.
I gave up and went to bed.

3.15am. he came to bed. He was cold.
3.30am. he `leapt` out of bed to look for his keys.
6.15am. he said he was sorry he had prevented me from going to work.
7.am. he asked me where my mum was.
He slept.

8.30am. I got up and switched on the central heating.
9.15am. it began to whine
Then it stopped
Then it started again.
Then it stopped.
Then it started again.
Then it stopped.
The heating engineer called from the installing company.
He heard the tail end of the whine.
He turned the heat on full
The boiler refused to perform........complete silence.
The engineer confirmed it was the pump, even though he had barely heard it.
He couldn`t fix it..........it was under guarantee with the manufacturer.
He phoned the manufacturer.
Thay would phone me in a couple of days to arrange an appointment.
He left.
Dhiren got up.
He was confused.
He wanted to know what happened last night.
He felt weak and exhausted.
He was very quiet, his head was bad.
He said he felt awful.
I suggested we watch the State Opening of Parliament.
D `Who`s that?`
S `It`s the Queen.`
D `She looks old.`
S `She is old.`
The doorbell rang.
I took delivery of a parcel.
The phone rang.
It was my shopping online company.
It was a different company to the one I usually use.
The voice said `Are you Mrs G?`
S `Yes.`
Voice `I don`t think you heard your doorbell`.
S `I have just accepted a parcel, so I did hear it.`
Voice `I rang your bell and you didn`t answer.`
S `Where are you?`
Voice `Standing outside your front door.`
S `You are not. I am standing at my front door and there is no-one there.`
Voice `I am standing outside your address.** ********* ******`
S `I am standing inside the same address. I see no delivery van and I see no delivery man.`
Voice `Oh!. I`ll get back to you.`
Ten minutes later my shopping was delivered.
S `Where were you?`
Man `There are two avenues with the same name and the same numbers. I was at the other one.`
S `It`s news to me.`
Man `It`s a continuation of this avenue. That`s what my sat nav said`
Well, well, well.!!!

Well the last part of that made me laugh but the first part - oh Sylvia :( You poor things. Does this mean you don't have any heating at all? Because if so I'd take the advice given by Ellie (was it? sorry if I've got the wrong name) and get on to their emergency number PDQ - you cannot as pensioners be expected to survive in this weather without heating (and I would lay on the elderly aspect even though I don't think you are).

Don`t worry Jennifer.....................

I can leave the heating on for usually an hour before it starts to whine, and we also have a gas fire in the living room and an oil filled radiator in the bedroom, so we are not suffering unduly.

It`s just a pain.

Dear Silvia

It is with sadness that I have just read your threads over the past few days. I could not reply, as my computer had a virus, and I have had to get someone out to repair it. I am now back online.
I am going through some of the same. But, not as badly as you are.
I do not know how you cope, at least Ron is not a "wanderer".
Please accept my wishes for a peacefull night tonight.

Thank you Barb.

So far so good.

This evening has been incident free, Dhiren has enjoyed the mop bucket saga and is about to enjoy our favourite soap and I`m a celebrity get me out of here.

That sees us through till 10pm. [I hope]
