This is a hard one - she is my 88 year old aunt and I do not have contact with my cousins.
She has called and spoken to me 5 times in three days to tell me her son in law has died ( this is true )
When she called the third time I did tell her she told me already and she just said - "Oh dear, so sorry - never get old - I should write stuff down".
Anyway she called again today and left a message on the answering machine for me to call her.
Should I
a ) not call her back
b) pretend I do not know about her SIL
c) tell her she has already told me ?

Help !

Welcome to TP.

I would call her, listen to her, reassure her that everything is ok. she may be stressed and your cousin must be getting nuts with repetitive phone calls.

Use compassionate communication as previous post said.

Then call ( or write) to your cousin ( or to your aunt GP) and explain your concerns.
