Hazel, truly your devotion to John is inspirational!
Taffy, I am, utterly, utterly devoted to John. How could I not be?
Potted biog.
My first husband died when I was 42. Four months later my beautiful 18 year old daughter died. I tried to go back to the job I loved, but couldn't cope with the stress and had to retire.
So at 42 I had nothing. My son was away at uni and as traumatised as I was. My parents were elderly, and my father very sick. I had no job apart from spells of supply teaching, which I hated.
I spent 14 years living on a small pension, caring for my parents, doing lots of voluntary work, and
surviving.
Then I met my lovely John, and the sun came out again. Quite simply, he gave me my life back.
He is everything to me. He doesn't deserve this illness (who does?) But anything I can do to make his last days as peaceful and as comfortable as possible will be done. No choice!
Love,
