My younger sister (66) was diagnosed with PPA in 2022. She is at the stage where she needs assistance with medications, meals, and some help with taking showers. She has always lived alone and my sisters and I have been rotating keeping her at our homes and a few hours a day at her house. She really wants to be at her house but we are afraid to leave her alone in the house. She becomes very combative when hire someone to assist her. When she is with us at our homes, she continues to say "I want to go home to my house. We are trying to work through this issue. Any ideas????

I wish I could help @BJD48 and hope others might have some good advice.

It`s always more difficult to keep a single person with dementia safe in their own home than one living with family or as a couple. I found the difference between caring for first my mother and then my husband.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you get the support and advice you need.
