Hi Sylvia,
Just back from holiday and catching up on your posts particularly about the talk at the hospital. It reminded me of a lecture I attended as a student nurse when a mental health specialist asked for a show of hands on who was in nursing to change the world. Only one hand went up. Then we listened and participated for an hour on why we would not change the world BUT we could influence change. I think you have succeeded in influencing change which is a tremendous achievement and so glad you will be going back.
On another note I could not help but think the other week that Dhiren was looking down on us smiling. I remember coming round once and he was quite animated having read his magazine about India and the space race. Now I must admit I did not take it too seriously until the other week when India has a probe orbiting Mars and sending back Photo's at a fraction of the cost of other countries!! That will teach me!

It`s good to hear from you Terry. I hope you enjoyed your holiday, I`m sure you did.

I took some TP and Dementia Helpline Flyers into the hospital yesterday so am becoming familiar with the place, hopefully for the right reasons.

I think Dhiren is looking down on us too. I hope so. :)

A big adventure.

Helen and I watched a programme about The Ganges last week and decided we would like to visit India .

Helen has travel insurance for anywhere except the USA and Caribbean so much will depend on whether or not she will be able to have the vaccinations/immunisations and whether or not she will be able to take the anti malaria tablets .

I`ll be seeing Helen next week so we can plan together, for travel in the Spring 2015.

We both feel really positive about this trip which will include scattering Dhiren`s ashes in the Ganges. We understand it might not happen, although we both believe it will , and both our families are excited for us.

:)

Oh my Sylvia, how exciting and what an adventure. Who says you need to sit and read when you retire. You will have so much fun planning and what a result at the end of the planning. I am a deep shade of green right now. Fingers crossed you can both do it, go girls go.;);)

I`ve just had this message from Helen. :)

Hospital been in touch. They can't see a problem as I am stable. Injections and malaria no problems. Dr W also consulted Dr B and neither of them can see a reason not to go ahead and plan and book if necessary. I would personally think it wise to see the renal consultant on nov 4th and then email London asking them if they would agree. Xx

Oh Sylvia this is wonderful for you both. Go and grab it with both hands and enjoy the experience. Gayna and I both watched this programme and thought of you. Will try to pop over and see you before you go so you can tell of your expected adventures.
We are off to Cuba next April. It's a long story!

Good news from - and for - Helen.
I'm so very pleased,
You both will benefit from this wonderful trip.
Give Helen my love too. xxx :)

p.s. I think I've read somewhere that a sequel to Hotel Marigold has been made, or is in the process of being so.
No reason why there can't be a third!!! :D
