Thank you all for your good wishes.

I must admit, the day was tinged with sadness, but I kept reminding myself of a quote from Prof. Andrews, of Stirling Uni:

Don't grieve for what you have lost, rejoice for what you have had.

I have so much cause for rejoicing!:)

Another huge dip on the switchback, I'm afraid!:(

Three days after his lovely birthday photograph, John has two new infections. One in his chest, and MRSA in his heel again.

I'm devastated.

Hello Hazel,

That's tough news..not surprised you're devastated.

Can they..will they..give antibiotics?

Hang on in there...Hazel...

Thanks, gigi. Yes, they've prescribed two antibiotics, one for his chest and another for his heel.

Don't think they'd dare do anything else now!

It's upsetting though, because his heel has been getting better for a while.

I think the bugs are in his system, and I don't think he's ever going to get rid of them completely, it's just a question of zpping them every time they surface.

I don't know how long John can keep fighting, though.

Love,

Think about yourself and try not to worry..(easy for me to say..I know..but meant sincerely..:))

I`m so sorry Hazel. :(

You are given no time at all to relax and feel John is on a plateau before there`s a repetition of the same. And each time his infections seem to last longer.

I do hope the antibiotics work.

Thanks, Roseann and Sylvia.

Trouble is, I've been fighting infections and hypothyroidism for the last few months and was just beginning to feel a bit better -- actually managed to do some weeding yesterday!

Now I feel flattened again.

OK, I'm feeling sorry for myself tonight. :( I'll be better again tomorrow!:)

Daer Hazel:

I am so sorry to hear your latest news. I do hope John fights these infections as he has in the past.

These words seem so empty - I wish I could offer more, both in words and deeds. You are in my thoughts.

Dear Hazel,
I am so very sorry to read about John's infections. Do hope they can get things sorted out very quickly and that he is comfortable.
I think it is your love and devotion getting him through each set back he has.
Love to you both

Thank you all for your support, you don't know how much it means to me.

I'm feeling pretty low both mentally and physically just now, and it's so good to have your encouragement.

Love,

It`s not a good place to be Hazel and it`s difficult to see a way out of it. I can only suggest you allow yourself this feeling and perhaps it will ease naturally.

Small comfort I know. :(

Love xx
