I haven't posted for a while as I lost my husband to this cruel disease in Jan 2020.
However now the husband of my disabled sister has been diagnosed with Alzheimers.
I am hundreds of miles away from.them and they are quite isolated.
Anyway, I had a distressed call early this morning.
A couple of days ago their Sky box went wring and Sky said they had to have Sky Q.
To cut a long story short, neither of them can.operate it and on contacting Sky were told they can't have an old box and they should cancel their contract which they have done.
They are now looking for alternatives but honestly I can't find anyone who could advise them or set up something simple fir them.
Virgin Medua isn't available where they live.
Dies anyone have any ideas how I can get them some help, so they can get access to some TV.
Apologies for long post

I’m sorry I don’t have any personal knowledge to help. I wondered thought if you would be able to find something through using the Ask Adam application. It’s described here and the link is also there -

What do they want to watch?

Freeview through an aerial has this choice

You may need a box if TV does not have freeview ( or freeview play) installed

The box https://www.argos.co.uk/browse/technology/freeview-boxes-and-recorders/c:30220/ will provide freeview play https://www.freeview.co.uk/help/what-is-freeview-play which if used with an internet connection is more versatile.

You can also get outdated boxes - freeview not freeview play

Thank you for the advice. They do not watch sport or films but do watch things like Quest Talking Pictures Really etc.

Google <programme> freeview and see if if it comes up with a channel number.

Go to https://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview-channel-checker and check availability at receiving address.

Either click on category to expand choice beyond commonly watched programmes or click on 'show nnn more' at bottom before on demand freeview play.
