My Mum has dementia and is living in a care home. We have sold her house to help pay the care fees. She also owned a parcel of land that can’t be counted as part of residence which was also sold. She need to submit a capital gains declaration but HMRC have made it almost impossible to do it as she can’t register for online as she has no in date passport or driving licence.. we can’t find a relevant paper form to download and we can’t get through to anyone by phone .
We would be grateful for any advice on how to proceed .

Welcome to the forum @KLane.

I’m sorry I have no experience to help you here. There may be other members along who do have experience to share but in the meantime I wondered if it would be an idea to phone the Support Line for advice.
