Hi, my name is Wendy and I have my 90 year old mum living with me who has dementia. The problem at the moment is that she uses the telephone all the time to ring her other daughters. We have the dementia phone where you can put the photos and names so that she just presses the one button but on checking the phone bill have found that she is also ringing random numbers but unfortunately she must be pressing redial as is ringing numerous times, she did say that someone had shouted at her. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to stop this? I have taped cardboard over the numbers but she just rips it off.

Buy a cordless phone and remove the handset. When she kicks off and she will, tell her that the phone is lost but you'll bring it to her as soon as you find it.
"Find" it at an appropriate time of day, supervise her calls and then remove phone to be recharged. Ooops! lost it again and repeat.
