Ivy g my husband has dimentia and is in a nursing home and I have questions about his care, right now about toileting.how long must he wait to be attended? He is in long term care and requires a hoist and lift now whereas previously he could be taken with assistance. His only complaint has been being toileted, particularly at mealtime. What is the normal procedure?

Welcome @Miss muffet

I think many care homes toilet residents before and/or after mealtimes as a routine.

If your husband feels the need to visit the toilet more frequently, perhaps a word with the manager of the home would be the best bet.
