Hi my husband has Dementia and Parkinsons, although only diagnosed 18 months ago he has gone down hill very quickly. I do find it hard to cope especially when he is unpleasant and aggressive. After reading some of the stories I realise that it is a confusing and sometimes unhappy place out there, but the knowledge you are not alone helps

Welcome to the forum @Tracklady.

I’m so sorry to read about your husband’s diagnosis. It’s sad that you’re experiencing aggression too. Please keep yourself safe. If you face physical aggression please try to go to another room with a mobile phone, where you can be alone - I know - easier said than done. If necessary phone the police for assitance. If nothing else the call will be logged as a vulnerable person incident. This can be useful if you need to have a care assessment done.

I’m glad you’ve found this forum. You’ll find it a supportive place to be. You certainly won’t be alone here.

So sorry your husband isn’t nice to you.
Dementia must be a terrible place if it makes you horrible to the people you love.
Sending you positive vibes!
