Recently had a home visit from a "consultant" to assess Robert and his problems, before he began with Robert I explained how he now thinks there are people living in our bedroom and he believes he goes to work and how his aggression is getting worse. so I said to Robert that the doctor wanted to hear about THE FORDS this is the name they go with him (they are dead relatives) So after listening all he could say is you do realise these people are dead and you are 78 and so cannot be working so not much help there. prescribed Memantine what chance have you got ?

That had to be extremely frustrating. He obviously knew nothing about dementia. I listened to a great talk on dementia and the doctor said that, because of brain damage, dementia patients can’t change their reality so dementia doctors need to accept the dementia patient’s reality and work from there.
