Thank you for the info. I googled him.We are discussing the 30Q MMSE Test, which contains a name and address to remember. I’d think a different name and address are used in your country.
Until I googled him, I thought he might have been a character out of one the soapies.I am not that bothered about WHERE Harry Barnes lives - I just wonder WHO he is !!!!!!
73 Orchard Close, Kingsbridge, Devon !! I have just looked on Google Maps and he has a lovely house !!!
Oh for crying out loud!! I have a research degree but would not be able to pass these memory tests. Interesting side light - many years ago I did an education diploma and on our first day, we had to take all the IQ tests to see how it felt. I looked around the room, most people were cheating ...Well I’m not sure the test stop at a few questions like Where Harry Barnes Lives there are far more completed tests taken over a 2 to 2½hours with a Psychologist for example the Psychologist would read a story for instance about a Fire , the person being tested is given a full A4 sheet of paper containing rows and rows of the letter E hidden randomly within are lettersF The Story starts and every time the patient hears the word “Fire” they should put a "tick" at top of page for instance fire-engine "tick" fireman "tick" and so on this would probably take 15 minutes to complete and requires good concentration obviously the amount of "ticks" depends on who may time the word Fire was said , remember there are different stages of dementia not everyone is at the same level some dementia diagnosis need more tests than others
Who is Harry Barnes?
One test I had to do recently was extremely hard because it had been designed to distract you. Printed on a page were a lot of words printed in various colours and you just had to say what the colour was, not the word. The first two like that were fairly straightforward but the last one was so hard. The words were just the names of the colours , red, blue, yellow and green but were printed in different colours to what the word was.Oh for crying out loud!!
