Hi jimbo. Before you write yourself off I thought you might like to know that I too hate windows 10 and so does my daughter - 25yrs old and VERY computer savvy (a bit of a geek in fact).
I've solved my problems by buying an iPad. VERY easy to use.
Sent from my iPad using Talking Point
Thank you Bunpoots
I am a complete *********
I have a Huddle 2, and I've ****** that up too
I have had trouble with it because of bad arthritis in my hands , and when I touch the screen I tend to lose everything
but I agree with you I will persevere to get it back on the internet , because even though I have problems I got on better with that than W 10

It`s a shame there`s such a fine line between progress and reinventing the wheel.
Let's look at internet speed first.
If wireless is slow and ethernet is OK it might not be the aerial, it could be drivers. Rather than delving into drivers let's see if the aerial is around the screen.

Those speeds are very low.
Try the speed test you used before

If it is also slow take the laptop close to the router and try again, any better?
If you have an ethernet cable (also known as a network or LAN cable) connect with this to the router, any better?
The WiFi aerial on the laptop is often around the screen, this may have been disconnected/disturbed when the screen was changed.

If you post the make and model nu[/COLOR]mber I'll see if I can find where the aerial is fitted.
Not too serious edit
You seem to specialise in destroying laptops.
You can purchase rugged ones.
They come in two grades.
Indoor use - just generally dropping them.
Outdoor use - adds dust proofing, waterproofing etc - construction sites - military.
Several manufactures make them.
Their is a specialised supplier http://www.rugged-systems.com/products/rugged-laptops/
You might find it cheaper to buy two normal laptops and try to synchronise their contents!!
