Visited mum today, she is so poorly, it was such a very sad visit and I felt so down. I was going back to the car park and saw my SIL and her nephew who were visiting SIL's mum. We chatted, we hugged, we supported each other as SIL was visiting her Mum.

I was visiting Mum.

My brother, her husband called earlier to say he couldn't visit as he had a chest infection. This is not the brother who specialises in emptying her bank account.

Then leaving the car park met an old school friend from 35 years ago, recognised each other and had a wonderful catch up.

Every cloud and all that.

Sorry to hear that your Mom is poorly.
Life is full of surprises, like meeting 'half' of the family at the hospital car park and the unannounced meeting with a friend.
In this dreadful world of Alzheimer's and dementia we have to enjoy each and every good moment life throws at us.
My best wishes for you and your Mom
