And my deep sadness is not just for myself, but for him.

The above jumped off the page to me. It`s what helped to see me through. However bad things got for me I tried hard never to forget my husband was the one with dementia.

Even now, six years after his death, it still hurts when I think about what he has missed out on.

I know it was my parents and aunt but I also relate to a lot of these feelings. My daughter was told by her therapist that she’s depressed because she’s spent the last ten years dealing with bereavements which we have been unable to properly grieve as we’ve just had one dementia illness after another without a gap to recover.

Nearly two years after my dad’s death we still have unresolved feelings to deal with.
