Penalized for working?
Two case histories
1. This woman never worked. She didn't need to as her husband was in full employment. She had a pampered lifestyle and enjoyed coffee mornings and socialising with friends. The house she lived in was in her husband's name. She develops dementia and all her care is funded because the house is not in her name. Her daughter keeps the house.
2. This woman had to work. Her husband was invalided in world war 2. She taught for 30 years, paid all her taxes. Suffered a heart attack at 59 caused by stress. Receives a gold plated pension of just over £10,000 a year which has also been taxed. She develops dementia. She must pay her own care fees and her home has to be sold.
Both women are the same age and have identical problems.
I too have signed the petition and written to my mp.
Any comments?

I am new here, just found this thread linked from another, and I've signed the petition.
IIRC these petitions need 100,000 to sign to force a debate in the Commons, so a long way to go.
If every time someone signs it, they also bump the thread by posting on it, it should keep the thread on the first page of the forum & easier to find.

Can I suggest people link to this e-petition in their signatures on here, as I have below.
