Welcome to the forum. Just to clarify, the requirement relating to '10 posts' applies if you want to start a conversation privately with another member - you can't do this until you have posted 10 times on the forum. The '10 post rule' doesn't apply to replying to messages on the open forum though, you can reply to posts here without needing to have 10 posts first or starting a new thread

To further clarify.
Unless things have recently changed you should be able to reply to a conversation, the 10 post rule only applies to starting a conversation.
