I love reading all of these. In this busy world, just having a moment to pass the time of day can make such a huge difference to someone. I live near a specialist hospitals and often meet people coming out from visiting. It’s on my dog walk and sometimes people just love to make a fuss of her and have a chat about anything other than what they are going through. She’s a little therapy dog in her own way.
She's beautiful!

I think that you had good intentions of thinking of small acts of kindness but went too far with the pub. It just emphasises what some of us are not able to do. I'm teetotal as well. It just demonstrated lack of thought and understanding of others difficulties. 💐for the thought
I have to agree with you @jennifer1967 I would like to know how we would be required to 'prove' we are carers or our loved ones have dementia. My OH would immediately slip into Host Mode and nobody would think anything was wrong with him. If they mentioned the word 'dementia' he would leave without a second thought. I would also object to being quizzed by bar-staff as to my husband's medical condition or my role as a carer (I don't see myself as a carer but as a wife).

For carers who for whatever reason can’t get out, this organisation does a lot of online activity. I have never joined them myself but get regular email updates from them.
just gone and look on their website and they dont cover my area. we do have an unpaid carers organisation but they dont cater for people like me either. ive sent emails to them.

I think 🤞🤞🤞Jennifer you don’t need to be in their areas to join the online events. It says that every unpaid carer is able to join. Hopefully they can clarify that with you over email.

Hi @Rishile , our local carers Resource Centre gives carers an I.D card that's an official recognition of being a registered carer. It also has the registered carers I d number so that in the event of accident or illness social services have the cared for details. and contact numbers. If other family cannot be available then s s will ensure the
'cared for' safety.

Was useful for carers discount at a lot of holiday sites and attractions.

So glad I sent my Northern friend a Tea for Two yesterday. Her friend died this morning at 4am. All I can do is be available 247 by phone and text if my friend needs support. 👂 🤝

Took the staff on OH's ward a 1kg box of best Belgian chocolate biscuits. Marked "from OH" on every side. Should go down well for those missing the Lord Mayor's Procession and fireworks tonight, and the footy tomorrow.

thats was nice, only problem being the hospital tends to be so hot they could melt before being eaten.

I got the bus home from town a couple of days ago and the young man behind me explained to the driver that his phones battery had died and he was unable to pay his bus fare to the next town. The driver was having none of it and told him to get off so I paid the bus fare for him. It was only £2 but it saved him a five mile walk and whether he was trying it on or not I don't know but he thanked me very nicely and I felt happy to help someone.

It's not hard to be nice.

I am another one who tries to pass on car park tickets that still have some time on them.

£2 making such a difference to that young man 🥰🥰 and hopefully your kindness will be paid on as he remembers it next time he sees someone in need!
