Hi!
Are you someone living with dementia or a family member/carer of someone who is?
Are you interested in research and would like to make a difference to the future of safeguarding practices for adults with dementia?
If so we would love to hear from you!
My name is Kasia and I am part of a research team based at the University of Manchester. We are currently recruiting members of a public involvement group (PPIE) for a research study entitled: Partnership in Safeguarding People with Dementia from Primary and Social Care Perspectives.
What is the purpose of the PPIE group?
The purpose of this PPIE group is to provide advice and consultation and help guide our research to be more relevant to the needs and priorities of people with dementia and those who care for and support them. It will assist us in producing information which everyone will understand.
What will the group involve?
If you decide to take part, you will be asked to attend 9 group meetings (1 hour long) over the course of 18 months. The group will meet once every 2 months; face to face or virtual meetings depending on your preferences and needs. Any travel and expenses will be fully reimbursed.
If you agree to take part, the activities you could be involved in include:
You will receive payment for your time and any additional costs you incur will be reimbursed (such as carer costs).

- You can provide your views and advice regarding the study design, such as our recruitment strategy and data collection tools.
- You can join in interviews and focus groups with our participants and help us make sense of the findings.
- You can also help us plan how we will share our findings and co-develop materials and information which we can share with the public.
