Hi,

I thought I read a while ago that the police can help with someone with dementia that is distressed and living on their own.

Is this right?

Mum has started getting paranoid about cars parked outside her house with their lights on. She also said that someone called her (initially couldn't remember what they said) but then said someone said they're going to get her.

She was very scared.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm in not sure ,the police are changing a lot of their responses regarding dementia. They certainly would go out if a person was presenting challenging behaviour but now they will only attend if there has been an incident where someone has been harmed. I may have missed something though so maybe others will be able to comment.
