Mother in law has Dementia

Hi all I’m new here but I’m going thru some difficult times with my mother in law I take care of her while my husband works he leaves the house at 5 to go to work gets home at 2
I’m in charge from 5-2
I’m having problems with bathroom issues she won’t go to bathroom and does not like to shower I noticed before her dementia she did wash ups so now going to bathroom she makes a mess when I get her to go and showers are every 4 days what can I do

Other way round for me, my wife goy early unset and mum ended up helping me care for my wife then mum got a mild cognitive impairment. One thing wiping your children's bottoms and not so difficult with my wife, I did it for her because I know she would have done it for me.
Rather be wiping my mother in law's bum than my own mum, he says as a man. K
