I have discovered that asking my OH questions is not the best way to work out what has happened. When he cannot remember (getting more and more frequent) he gets agitated, tries to work out what must have happened and this then becomes the reality for him, even though it usually bears no resemblance to actual reality. Questioning his reality then becomes counter-productive as he becomes angry.I'm getting used to asking a lot of questions! I always expalain that I am not questioning his honesty, I'm just trying to understand what has happened
Much better to just examine the evidence and try and work it out for yourself. If you think your dad might be going down into the cellar at night (quite likely, actually), is there any way to lock it and see if this stops the problem?
