  1. As you all know im in a band and i re-wrote the Bee-gees song For whom the Bell tolls and i have done it for my mum ive been in the kitchen tonight torturing myself i grief if you like thinking about her its mums 52nd birthday next week and its getting to me bad. Heres the lyrics i wrote i hope it dont offfend anyone.

    Hope you're all ok

    I stumble in the night
Never really knew what it wouldve been like
    Youre no longer there to
    Break my fall
    The heartache over you
I gave it everything but I couldnt get through
    I never saw the signs
Youre the last to know when hope is blind

All the tears and the turbulent years
When I would not wait for no one
I didnt stop, take a look at myself
    And see me losing you

    (chorus)
    When the lonely heart breaks
    Its the one that forsakes
Its the dream that we stole
    And Im missing you more
And the fire that will roar
Theres a hole in my soul
    For you its goodbye
And for me its to cry
    For whom the bell tolls

Seen you in my hopes and dreams
    A picture at a party
    Where you should have been
Having laughs were people who love you
    ill always love
Wish you come back to the people you knew
This precious time was never mine
Now I know but a little too late
That I could not live without you
In the dark of the broad daylight
    I promise Ill be there

    (chorus)

    When the lonely heart breaks
    Its the one that forsakes
Its the dream that we stole
    And Im missing you more
And the fire that will roar
Theres a hole in my soul
    For you its goodbye
And for me its to cry
    For whom the bell tolls

I never knew thered be times like this
When I couldnt reach out to no one
Am I never gonna find someone
That knows me like you do
Are you leaving me a helpless child
When it took so long to save me
Fight the devil and the deep blue sea
    Ill follow you anywhere
    I promise Ill be there

    When the lonely heart breaks
    Its the one that forsakes
Its the dream that we stole
    And Im missing you more
And the fire that will roar
Theres a hole in my soul
    For you its goodbye
And for me its to cry
    For whom the bell tolls

What lovely lyrics! I understand perfectly, my mum died at Christmas after having dementia for two years. She loved writing daft poems and I wrote one for her and read it out at her funeral in the village she lived in and I grew up in - that was really hard but I'm glad I did it for her. I have only been on TP a couple of times since she died and couldn't write anything, all too hard I'm afraid. You've got me talking again!

I'm afraid I cant write Mums poem down for you its too raw. You've had me in tears just reading your lyrics and I'm a big ugly bloke! Your words express how it feels, I know and have the tee shirt to prove it!

Your lyrics are lovely and I cant see anything that might offend anyone.

    Try to keep smiling

PS I use to do that torment myself with one song by clien deon (sp) called mama I love you .

Now I feel music is a good way to express your grief

Well done, both of you. This is what TP`s about.

Your words are beautiful, you are so gifted to be able to express your feelings with so much emotion.

    Take care, love Sylvia x
