As you say Ian is going into a home, I presume that means that the infection has cleared, that is good news. It is good that the NH is so close to you, and that you (and the cat!) will be able to visit easily. I am sure that you will soon establish a routine of visiting, and now you will not have to be concerned about lifting and falls. It will not be easy for you, but you know that you are doing the best thing for Ian to ensure that he is safe.
