Hi Dianne
please don't be scared we are all willing tto help you all that we can.
Your first call must be your Dad's GP,they can start off everything for you ,do that first.
Tell us more about you worries.
Have a look at the fact sheets on this site go to http://www.alzheimers.org.uk/Facts_about_dementia/factsheets.htm.
There is loads of information there for you.
Keep posting and don't worry and be scared
Best Wishes

You're doing fine. This is a good place to start. If your Dad has been diagnosed, then I expect you've been through quite a lot already. It is a scarey situation, but TP can help, as the others have said.
Hi Dianne, my husband has vasvular dementia. I have been feeling quite isolated since was given no helplines after diagnosis. I joined that site last Sunday and already just logging in daily has made me realised that I'm not alone, so no need to feel isolated, join in and get support from the site and the GP, social worker, CPN etc.Anya
So sorry for you and your Dad. It is difficult to know what to do, and I have to say that probably none of us knew what to do at the beginning it really is a steep learning curve. I'd advise to keep harassing the doctors, I don't know what yours are like (I'm in Australia) but most here know where to get you more information and if you can find a geriatric specialist (applicable to early onset sufferers as well) they should definelty be able to point you in the right direction.
If your father is not too far into the disease yet (but again I don't know about the vascular dementia types and what happens with them) you will have time to find things out and be ready for the next stages, this first part is going to be the hardest though.
