My name is Kate and my mother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s for 3 years. However we believe she has had the disease for over 5.
She is at home with my father who is trying his best to care for her.

I’m sorry to hear about your mother. It must be very hard for both you and your father. Does he have any outside help in caring for her? If not it might be time for an assessment of her care needs and a carers’ assessment for your father.
