Hello - advice on tracking watches

My father has Alzheimer’s and I am looking into any advice or recommendations for tracking watches as I think this will be beneficial for his independence.

Has anybody any advice on this?

I would like to buy someone a nice fitness watch to monitor her steps. But she said no, they are too expensive.

Also, in the news reports of changes in watch faces and watch apps on Googles news.

She's not eating a great deal only very small portions.
