Falling Star

There’ll come a time when you won’t even know my name
The doctor called, to tell me the news today
The confirmation of our deepest fears
We know the story of your final years
And I’ll try, not to breakdown & cry

So near yet far away
I’ll care for you each day
And see no matter who you are
The beauty of a falling star

You still remember all the songs that we used to sing
But look confused as you stare at your wedding ring
Faded photographs and memories
This is your life and how it used to be
Still, I’ll try, not to breakdown & cry

So near yet far away
I’ll care for you each day
And see no matter who you are
The beauty of a falling star

Now you don’t know me; but I manage to make you smile
A consolation as the parent becomes the child
I watch the progress of this cruel disease
And now each time, as I get up to leave
I cry a stranger waving goodbye.

So near yet far away
I’ll care for you each day
And see no matter who you are
The beauty of a falling star

Star, My beautiful star, Star.

OMG I struggled to listen to all of that and have tears rolling down my face, it is so poignant.

Thank you so much for allowing me to listen to it.
