My husband is in hospital been there seven weeks. He has challenging behaviour at night so we are finding him hard to place. I’ve got a social worker but feel isolated. Need advice to do right thing. How do I find an advocate in my area. Is it worth having one.

Sorry your husband is ill and your are having trouble finding a place for him, Optomistic. I typed Manchester into the search engine at https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/find-support-near-you and it only comes up with Accrington which is a few miles away as I recall. You could try the national dementia helpline at https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/get-support/national-dementia-helpline
If they can't help then the carers support centres may be useful, you will find a local one at http://carers.org. AgeUK offer advice and services, so try https://www.ageuk.org.uk/manchester/
I hope any of that is of use, and you find a place where your husband will get the support he needs.
