My dad has woken 4 times over the past 2 weeks physically shaking arms and legs and breathless. He has been given antibiotics as they thought he has a urine infection. Started those on Thursday okay Thursday night but woke up again this morning with the shakes. He has vascular dementia and seems over the past two weeks he has dipped. My mam lives with him but she has lymphoma. Dad is 86, anyone experiencing the shaking is this part of dementia, what we we do to help Dad with the stress of this.

Welcome to the forum. It could be that your Dad is having a TIA but he needs to have a full medical inspection to find the cause as something like a heart problem could also result in shaking/breathlessness. Who diagnosed a urine infection - the GP or hospital? Please speak to the GP (or dial 111 out of hours) as the symptoms seem to be more than a urine infection and they will be able to undertake/request a full range of tests to try to identify what's wrong.

Thanks Louise. GP diagnose during infection. Test back Monday if clear they will send for bloods and if they are clear scans and refer to MH team. He only this month saw his specialist, just this is new and no one seems to be moving quick enough for me.
