Hello, my dad has dementia for many years now and is getting frail. He only just about recognises me. He has lived in a dementia care home for 5 years or so since breaking a hip. This event seemed to make him much worse. Dad has been admitted to hospital twice in the last month for not eating, dehydration and chest infection and he is still there now. Big shock today when care home are refusing to take him back because he may aspirate and they say they do not have facilities to manage this. It feels like he’s been evicted from his home and I wondered how common this was.
