Hi
I live a distance from my mum and work f/t. My sister is further still and also in a demanding f/t job. Mum is in her own home with a man who is abusing her financially whilst being her named carer. My sister and I have LPA but are struggling to stop the financial abuse whilst still allowing her to access her money. She has little to no short term memory, believes she has endless financial resources and thinks this man is a long term loving partner. For further context, her alcoholic husband died in Jan 21, this local alcoholic moved into her home in Jul 21. She is 78, he is 54. No one has been able to help stop this. What can I do now?

Welcome to the forum @EssAitch.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mum’s situation. It’s really worrying. Have the police and the social work department been contacted regarding this? If not I would certainly get in touch with them and emphasise the fact that she is extremely vulnerable and in a potentially dangerous situation.
