Hello all, mum was diagnosed with alzhiemers and vascular dementia from mri scan.
Social worker asked if mum wanted to go to care home for two weeks, and if she wanted to stay then she could. Mum agreed, but wants to return home. She needs 24 hr care, and I can’t be with her 24 hrs a day. There is only myself helping her. Mums safety is paramount. Mum wanders, up and down all night. She started Donepezil three weeks ago, and seem to be helping. It’s helped with word finding, and hallucinations have eased.
On Tuesday we have a meeting with her social worker regarding mums decision and care plan. Myself and my partner along with mums friends feel she needs to stay in care. I fear social worker will allow mum to return home. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
