Weekend activities

Hi all,
My mum has fairly early stage Alzheimer's. She can look after herself with a bit of help when something out of routine happens. She has carers in for an hour twice a day and goes to quite a few activities on her own or with friends in the week.
But there is nothing on at the weekend and she's gets really down because she's lonely, even with the carer visits.
I live with my husband 3 hours drive away and work full time. I go up for a long weekend (4 days) once a month.
Did anyone have any advice on where I can find weekend activities for Mum? She lives in South Cumbria/North Lancashire.
Thanks

What a shame that your mu feels lonely at the weekends. I suppose most activities only happen midweek. I wondered if you'd be able to find anything suitbable using this link -

I'm afraid I don't know the area so forgive me if this is not appropriate! There's a contact form on this list. Perhaps they would be able to suggest something -

There's an email address in this one -
