Despite AgeUK and the lady from the memory clinic telling us it's not worth applying without a formal dementia diagnosis, the first payment has been received in the account today. The letter was posted on the 31st January and as it was the online form would not have been backdated. We would not have known about AA and would not have applied without this forum so thank you all.
