Hi @jessie.denyer
mum liked the bottom row the best - either the green or blue. She really found the black background difficult as did the yellow one. She said the options at the bottom were also quite hard to read.

thanks for this. It’s difficult for people with late dementia to contribute to stuff so it was lovely for us to sit for 5 mins to help you.

Here’s a pic of her looking - you can add to ur study you have involved people with dementia in your research 🥰🥰
Hello,
I have developed my designs a little further! :)
There are three packs of cards, one pack would be conversation starters with simple questions. Ranging from questions about childhood to questions about hobbies. The second pack is image cards, so family members can talk with their loved ones about what the image reminds them of which can also spark interesting stories and conversations. And finally, the third pack is sensory texture cards with recognisable fabrics. On the back of these cards will be images linking to where the texture is from, along with a question to spark conversations about the texture. I am also thinking about doing scented cards as well (like scratch and sniff!)

I have also designed a very simple board game to accompany the cards. This game would give people the chance to enjoy some quality time with their loved ones who have Dementia.

I have attached some photos of the printed cards that I have made, along with an image of the board game.
I would be very grateful for any feedback from anyone! Any suggestions on how to improve the designs are also welcomed! :) hope you like the designs!

Jessie

Hi everyone!

I have printed out and designed these sets of cards for families to play with their loved ones who have dementia. The aim of the cards is to spark new and lively conversations, so those with dementia can enjoy some quality time with their loved ones.

This is part of my university project so I would really appreciate any feedback and suggestions based on my designs :)

Thanks,
Jessie

Probably not much good to you, but it has inspired a solution for me. Based on the idea that we lose our memory for faces in reverse order to how we learned them, I have asembled photos from each year of my life (6 to 79), with the aim of noting when I do not remember them anymore (I am obsessed with monitoring my 'regression'). I have trouble kicking the notion of using my computer to do everything, but from reading this thread I see that all I have to do is print them all out, laminate them and cut them up into individual cards and look through them every so often to see which ones I still remember.

We meant to say they looked fab - as did the board game. Very clear and professional looking. Are you going to get them made up at all?

Hi, I'm glad this has inspired a solution for you! Hopefully printing them out will help :)

Hi
When I did a course with the RNIB they said that black printing on a cream background was easier for sight impaired to see than black on white.

Hi, that's really interesting!
Hopefully my designs would be good for those who are sight impaired.

Hello everyone!

I have designed some promotional billboards and a box design for the board game, along with some Instagram posts to promote the game and cards. I would appreciate any feedback on these designs.

Would you find the box appealing? Would it make you want to buy the game to play with your loved ones who have Dementia? I would appreciate any responses or suggestions!

Have a lovely weekend :)
Jessie

The font is hard to read here but I do like seeing the hands and other cards as it provides A human element to it.

we‘d love to try the game out when it’s finished!
