Hello, I’ve been posting a little on here recently, due to a rapid decline in Mums abilities. Young onset diagnoses at age 58 last month.

My concern is now on her lack of showering/ maintaining acceptable levels of personal hygiene. At point have you had experience of getting involved with this? For example, it has now been 11 days without a shower.

Many thanks

Hello @Mrscjdawson This is quite a common problem with people who have dementia. All you can do is to try to gently persuade your mum that she should have a shower now and again, but you cannot force her. Do you have carers coming in to help with your mum as sometimes they can have more success than family members. I have attached a link which you might find useful.
