My mum has dementia but is at home with a carer , but is now saying she wants to go into a home . she has given up. Is it better to leave her where she is ? or go along with her wishes? She sleeps most of day lives between settee and bed , up a lot in night , sight deteriorating , no appetite , has lost all interest in everything , has recently forgotten people had died and that has been awful ................ feel lost and so sad and emotional , not sure what to do , or what to expect , is this the final stage , it is horrible to see her like this .............

Care homes offer 24 hour care, meals, stimulation, constant company. You could look around for a suitable one for a short respite stay, see how your mum manages.
