Hi All
My name is Abigail.
I pray that the God's grace will abound on all those suffering from this disease and the families who care for them.
My mother in law, she passed away in 2017 who suffered from vascular dementia for five years.
Thankfully, we were able to look after her under our roof and it was the most blessed time for our family.
My children still have many happy memories of their grandparents despite of grandmother's dementia symptoms.
Now 7 years later my husband is 67 years old and was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's and blood cancer.
I can't determine what stage he is currently in, but he has had memory problems for a long time, and now he is repeating the same questions and remembering things that are different from the facts. After consulting with a specialist in July of last year 2023, it is believed that his condition may have started several years ago.
The question here is that the situation we are in now is that we need to proceed with a large-scale plan such as house repairs, but we cannot proceed because he has to participate in everything and make decisions but he couldn't remember things.
In his condition, would it be a burden for him to proceed with these things?
We cannot move out of this house because he wouldn't.
Don't know what to do with practical needs for the family and to deal with his conditions.
This time, I have to look after him by myself without any help at the moment.
Looking forward to hearing from you
