Ringing daily my Dads nursing home...

Knowing professionally how hard it is to answer the phone to a relative who's love one is dying, I find myself on the other end now, and I ask "has Dad had a comfortable day" and they like I would find something to say, when all I hear in my head is "no change" I know he would want peace and I also don't want to lose him...

I know Rarkaah it's horrible, and you feel a burden in a way ringing all the time and then don't care in another, it's your Dad and that is that. Sadly, comfortable is all you can hope for at this stage. My Dad passed in August this year, towards the end I wished him a peaceful passing most days, at the time I felt guilty for wishing him dead. He did have a peaceful passing thankfully, but anything is better than watching them suffer. My heart goes out to you. Red
