I'm a filmmaker, currently researching for a screenplay I'm writing about dementia.
It's partly based on my own experiences with two grandparents who had the disease, but I'm extremely interested in hearing other people's stories too.
The main issues I am looking to explore are:
1) what the world looks like through the eyes of someone with advanced dementia
2) the struggles of close family members to connect with a loved one who has the disease
3) those rare but wonderful moments of connection that can still occur even when someone has very severe dementia - when you feel even for a moment like "they're back again"
