Certainly, my mother sees and talks to figments of her imagination who she believes are actually there.

Read the book "Final Gifts". It is written by a hospice nurse of her experiences with dying patients. She talks alot about whether a patient is hallucinating or actually sees something. The book brought me great comfort and is very interesting.

Reincarnation

I'll steer clear of any comment on any religion, for fear of giving offence.

However, I have always liked the idea of reincarnation and, given the choice, I'd like to come back as a Swift.
At this time of year, when the young have just left the nest and are following their parents around learning about life, little gangs of them sweep past the rooftops, screaming with what I can only interpret as the joy of life.

(Mind you if the choice is down to someone else, with my luck I'll come back as a slug!)
