I've done everything suggested here bar actually tell them how upset I am on Mum's behalf that they've abondoned her now she's in a home but to no avail.

Maybe you should tell them how upset you are, not just on your mum's behalf but on your own. They might really not realise, not only that your mum misses them, but that you need the support they offered for yourself as well. I would avoid using words like "abandoned" though, which are likely to make them feel guilty and defensive. As I've said before, it's hard being the "other" relatives, wanting to be helpful and supportive, but not wanting to be seen as interfering, and sometimes we all get it wrong. But if you don't tell them how you are really feeling they won't know.
